TANZANIA: Business Sector Programme Support

Danida, through PEMConsult, commissioned Simon White to undertake an assessment in Tanzania to identify the potential scope for the fourth phase of the Business Sector Programme Support (BSPS IV) in Tanzania, which will run from 2013 to 2018.

Simon was part of a three-person team and specifically focuses on support for business environment reform. This included a review of the Government of Tanzania's reform programme, known at the Government Roadmap on Improvement of the Investment Climate in Tanzania.
A synopsis of the Tanzanian business environment can be found here.

This has previously been known as BEST: Business Environment Support Tanzania.

The process also included an examination of BEST-AC, a business advocacy fund designed to support business in its discussions on the need for reform.

KEY WORDS: business environment reform, Tanzania, advocacy, investment climate
